Carlos G., of the Club Mud Mountain Biking club, made an awesome video of the recently reopened Quiet Water mountain bike trails. The trails had been closed for two years after being destroyed in one of those pesky s. Florida hurricanes. Thanks to lots of work by Broward County Parks and Recreation, IMBA (International Mountain Bike Association) and some terrific volunteers, the trails were totally rebuilt from scratch. AWESOME JOB!!!!!
Here’s the video showing the trails being enjoyed:
TRAIL REVIEW
A review of the rebuilt trails at Quiet Waters can be read here: Quiet Waters Trails.

My friend Geoff, just posted this information on the Club Mud mountain bike club message boards:
“Club Mud Friends and Family,
Please check your calendars and try to make time for the posted Trail Building days featured on this great poster created by folks that care. 2nd and 4th Saturday of every month come out to Quiet Waters at 9AM to lend a hand in rebuilding the trail system. Bring your bikes for post-work riding as well as a helmet, water, sunblock, gloves and the appropriate clothing for the weather of the day.
With your help we can build and maintain sustainable trails that will reward us for many years to come.
Regards,
Your Club Mud Forum Admin”
My husband is a member of the National Mountain Bike Patrol and one of the official trail bosses for Quiet Waters Park.
Here’s a photo of my husband (wearing the floppy hat) and a few of the worker bees, finishing up building the bridge that is part of the mountain biking trail system at Quiet Waters Park.
QW is located in Deerfield Beach, Florida. The mountain bike trails were destroyed over 2 years ago when all those pesky hurricanes visited us. There was so much damage, the park had to be completely leveled. Lots of trees, shrubs and plants have been added around the trails, but it will be years before Quiet Waters gets back to looking like it used to. Come show your support for the south Florida mountain biking community by volunteering to help build and maintain the trails.

Testing out the newly built bridge - weeeee!!!
Additional information on the mountain biking trails at Quiet Waters, including a map of the current and future trails, can be found on the Broward County Parks and Recreation website.
