Support the NVF through the GRUEL-A-THON
Help support the GRUEL-A-THON, Dan Hanson’s challenging solo attempt to ride 1,000 miles in five days on a bicycle with no support and sparse supplies. The focus of the GRUEL-A-THON, apart from achieving a near-impossible goal that tests the physical, emotional and spiritual limits of the solo rider, is to raise awareness of and funds for the National Veterans Foundation.
Dan comes from a family whose many generations have served in various military branches during war and in times of peace. All proceeds raised to support Dan’s monumental efforts in GRUEL-A-THON will go to the National Veterans Foundation.
Visit Dan’s Gruel-a-thon Myspace page for additional information.

Hello Roger,
I would be interested in selling advertising space on the Bike Diva blog if your company has anything to with sports: cycling, marathons, triathlons, etc…
If you could provide me additional information about your company, and the type of ad you would like, we can continue from there.
Take care,
Lynn Smythe AKA the Bike Diva

Hello - Thanks for allowing me to post. I wanted to tell everyone about the National Veterans Foundation which
runs “Lifeline for Vets,” a crisis hotline that has fielded over a quarter of a million calls from veterans in need of emergency medical treatment, suicide intervention, post-traumatic stress disorder counseling, benefit advocacy, food, shelter, employment training or legal aid. If you are a vet or the loved one of a vet, and you need help, please call their toll free hotline at 1-888-777-4443 or visit their website at http://www.helpnvf.com.
We are working with Bob Filner, Chairman of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs to raise awareness of Veterans Issues and PTSD. We recently held a screening of the documentary “All the Way Home”allthewayback.com. on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 for the House Committee. The documentary follows a Montana fishing outfitter and his team of volunteers while they take severely injured Iraq and Afghanistan veterans from Walter Reed down an isolated river. It is a great film that shines a light on PTSD. “There hasn’t been a movie or documentary or a creative piece like this that has moved me so much,” say Shad Meshad, President and Founder of the National Veterans Foundation (NVF). You can see a trailer on http://www.allthewayback.com.
